VA Disability Benefits Bootcamp: A Step-by-Step Guide for Veterans and Service Members is an educational training program designed to help Veterans, Service Members, and their family members better understand and confidently navigate the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability compensation process. For many Veterans and Service Members, the VA disability claims process can seem complicated and overwhelming. Questions often arise about where to begin, what records are needed, how medical conditions may be connected to military service, what happens during a Compensation & Pension (C&P) examination, and what to do after the VA makes a decision. Who Is This Program Designed For? This Bootcamp is designed for: • Veterans who have never filed a VA disability claim and do not know where to begin. • Veterans who previously filed a claim and want to better understand the process and their available options. • Active-duty Service Members preparing for separation or retirement who want to learn about VA disability benefits before leaving military service. • National Guard and Reserve Service Members who want to better understand how qualifying military service and medical documentation may relate to VA disability benefits. • Family members and caregivers who want to better understand the process so they can support the Veteran or Service Member in their lives.
